Holden Motorsport

Racing – and more importantly winning – isn’t a new thing; it’s very much a Holden thing.

Over the years, Holden has raced its products with great success, both in Australia and around the world, and that story continues in today’s highly-competitive V8 Supercar category.

From the early beginnings of the motor car in Australia and the very first Holden – the 48/215 – right through the years and the glorious successes of Monaro, Torana and Commodore, ‘the General’ has been a regular on the starting grid.

Holden Motorsport, through its interactive website, brings you all of the latest action from its racing activities, which over the years haven’t been solely confined to circuit racing.

With 25 wins at the famed Bathurst 1000 and a record winning streak of seven straight from 1999 to 2005, Holden has proven time and time again that it can match it with the very best opposition that can be mustered.

Successes in long distance trials, off-road rallies and a whole range of motorsport disciplines have proved to be handy proving grounds for the products of tomorrow.

The introduction of the all-new VE Commodore to the V8 Supercar grid in 2007 continued the trend of Holden being at the forefront both on and off the track – the award winning Commodore retaining its title as Australia’s most popular car for the 12 successive year, while Holden again won the V8 Supercar Manufacturer’s Championship with Garth Tander taking the Driver’s title.

Holden Motorsport provides backing to a variety of teams competing in the V8 Supercar Championship Series, backing which helps the teams not only fly the flag for the Lion, but to develop, refine and improve on their performances.

Keep an eye on the site for all of the latest from Holden's teams in the V8 Supercar Championship Series, its Young Lions growling in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series and a host of other categories the General is involved in.
